With over 20 years of experience in agricultural research and development across West Africa, Dr. Tapsoba provided strong leadership during his tenure. He strengthened partnerships, advanced programme delivery, and supported smallholder farmers through resilient and adaptive approaches. Reflecting on his time at SAA, he emphasized the importance of teamwork and learning, noting that “resilience is not just about surviving the storm, but deciding together to build a better shelter for the next one.”

SAA expresses its sincere appreciation for his dedication, leadership, and contributions, and wishes him a fulfilling and well-deserved retirement as he returns to his passion for farming and community engagement.

SAA is pleased to welcome Mr. Baou Diane as the new Country Director for Mali. Mr. Diane brings over 20 years of experience in international development, including leadership roles in organizations such as ICRISAT, CARE International, the Aga Khan Foundation, ICCO Cooperation, and USAID. His expertise spans resource mobilization, partnership development, and the design of high-impact agricultural programmes.

Deeply committed to sustainable and market-oriented food systems, Mr. Diane combines professional expertise with practical experience as a farmer. His vision for SAA Mali focuses on strengthening extension systems, deepening partnerships, and scaling innovative approaches, including digital advisory services, to better serve smallholder farmers.

This leadership transition marks both continuity and renewed momentum as SAA continues its mission to promote sustainable agricultural development and improve livelihoods across Mali and the region.
