On February 12, 2026, Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) Mali took part in the celebration of the 66th birthday of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito at an official reception hosted by H.E. Yukuo Murata, Ambassador of Japan to Mali.

Held at the Radisson Collection Bamako, the ceremony brought together high-level Malian and Japanese officials, members of the government, the diplomatic corps, international organizations, and development partners.

On this occasion, SAA showcased its work through an exhibition stand highlighting its long-standing commitment to sustainable agriculture, food security, and the resilience of rural communities in Mali. The engagement enhanced the visibility of SAA’s actions and reaffirmed its role as a strategic partner supporting agricultural and nutrition systems, in line with Mali–Japan cooperation priorities.

Presiding over the ceremony, H.E. Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, praised the strong bilateral relations between Mali and Japan, particularly in agriculture and food security, supported notably through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Through its participation, SAA reaffirmed its commitment to development diplomacy, partnership building, and sustainable agricultural transformation in Mali.
