SAA Uganda Recognized as Best Visionary Agricultural NGO 2025
SAA Uganda is honored to have been recognized as the Best Visionary Agricultural NGO in Uganda for 2025 during the 13th Visionaries of Uganda Awards held at Serena Hotel, Kampala, on November 27, 2025. The prestigious recognition celebrates our organization’s commitment to accelerating agricultural transformation, strengthening livelihoods, and contributing to Uganda’s long-term development aspirations.
This year’s ceremony, held under the theme “Recognising and Celebrating Visionary Leadership for Continued Sustainable and Inclusive Socio-Economic Transformation,” brought together outstanding institutions whose work aligns with the goals of Vision 2040 and the National Development Plan (NDP). Since 2013, the National Planning Authority (NPA), working in collaboration with the Uganda Visionaries Advisory Board, has organised the annual awards to honour leaders and organizations demonstrating exceptional innovation, excellence, and impact across key sectors. The inaugural edition presided over by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni set a strong foundation for recognising champions contributing to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
Presiding as Chief Guest, Vice President H.E. Jessica Alupo commended awardees for their commitment to advancing national development. She emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between government, private-sector actors, and civil society organizations to accelerate progress in communities across Uganda. Ms. Alupo highlighted that the country’s development journey thrives on such partnerships, urging institutions to continue championing initiatives that support agricultural growth, financial inclusion, and access to key government programmes. She noted Uganda’s steady economic improvement marked by a 6.3% growth rate in the 2024/25 financial year, inflation maintained at 3.5%, and an increased tax-to-GDP ratio of 14% as evidence of a resilient, private-sector-led economy.

Each recognition serves as a platform to showcase best practices, publicize achievements, and inspire continued excellence. As Ms. Alupo remarked, these accomplishments are not isolated milestones but “building blocks of the Uganda we envision in 2040.”
For SAA Uganda, receiving the award affirms our unwavering commitment to supporting smallholder farmers with practical extension services, market-driven innovations, climate smart agriculture, and capacity-building initiatives that enhance productivity and resilience. This honour strengthens our resolve to continue working hand in hand with communities, government agencies, and development partners to drive Uganda’s agricultural transformation.
As we celebrate this milestone, SAA Uganda remains dedicated to delivering impactful, scalable, and sustainable interventions that support national development goals and uplift farming households across the country. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the National Planning Authority, the Visionaries Advisory Board, our partners, and the farming communities we serve for making this achievement possible.
